Through the Centinela Fund, the California Community Foundation made a 2013 award to the MLK Community Health Foundation of $150,000 for planning and pilot programs to establish the Learning Center.

The center is planned to educate, engage, and align community healthcare needs with accessible resources and wellness education. Its long-term vision is to improve the health of the Centinela Valley community, a part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital’s service area.
